What RS6776 actually is
RS6776 is a certification registered in France Compétences' Répertoire spécifique under the title "Creation of written and visual content through the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence". Its certifier is Inkréa.
It was registered on 1 October 2024, with registration running until 1 October 2029.
Two clarifications, because they are frequently confused.
The Répertoire spécifique is not the RNCP. The RNCP lists professional certifications corresponding to occupations, with qualification levels attached. The Répertoire spécifique lists shorter, complementary skills certifications that carry no level. RS6776 belongs to the latter.
It is not a technical certification. It does not validate development, fine-tuning or architecture skills. Its official audience is office-based functions: administrative support, marketing, communications, human resources, legal, secretarial. If you are looking to certify engineers, this is the wrong instrument.
A note for readers outside France. The CPF (Compte personnel de formation) is a State-funded individual training account that employees spend on their own development. France Compétences is the national authority governing vocational training and its registers of certifications.
The three competencies assessed
The framework attests three blocks.
Defining a strategy for integrating generative AI. Identifying relevant use cases within one's role, selecting appropriate tools, structuring an approach rather than using AI ad hoc.
Creating written and visual content through responsible use. Framing effective instructions, iterating, verifying outputs, controlling quality and accuracy, respecting third-party rights.
Assessing and managing ethical and regulatory issues. GDPR and the EU AI Act are explicitly in scope, alongside bias, transparency and intellectual property.
It is this third block that explains the certification's traction with employers: it partially addresses the AI literacy obligation under Article 4 of the EU AI Act.
The exam format
Assessment combines two components.
Six practical case studies, to be submitted within ten days of the end of training. They cover concrete professional content-production situations.
A twenty-minute oral defence before a jury, in which the candidate justifies their methodological, ethical and regulatory choices.
Where candidates most often fail is not the production itself — the tools make that accessible. It is the justification. A candidate who cannot explain why they selected one model over another, how they verified a generated claim, or what lawful basis covers the data they entered, will struggle in the oral.
The implication for preparation: devote at least a third of the time to argumentation, hallucination control and compliance — not solely to tool handling.
The major change in 2026: the CPF cap
This is the development that reshapes the economics of the certification, and many pages online have yet to reflect it.
Decree no. 2026-127 of 24 February 2026 caps at €1,500 the CPF entitlements that may be drawn on for training leading to a certification registered in the Répertoire spécifique. The cap has applied since 26 February 2026. Only the CléA certification, covering core professional knowledge and skills, is excluded.
The average observed price of Répertoire spécifique training on Mon Compte Formation sits at around €1,776. The cap therefore bites on the majority of the offering.
A flat personal contribution of €103.20, set by order of 30 December 2025, also applies to CPF usage.
What this means in practice. For training priced above €1,500, the difference must be covered by a personal contribution, an employer top-up, or OPCO co-funding. Fully CPF-funded enrolment, which drove the sector's growth, is no longer the norm on this register.
The other funding routes
The cap does not close the certification off — it shifts the centre of gravity towards employer funds.
The skills development plan. The employer funds directly. No regulatory cap applies. This is the simplest route for group training.
OPCO. Sector skills operators cover all or part of the cost depending on their sector and available envelopes — Atlas for financial services and digital, Afdas for communications and media, among others. Conditions vary between operators and change annually: check with yours.
FNE-Formation. A public support scheme, available according to annually defined priorities, which generally include digital transition.
France Travail. For jobseekers, through individual training support schemes.
Employer top-up of the CPF. The company can supplement the employee's entitlement to cover the amount above the cap, combining employee and employer budgets.
Should you target RS6776 in 2026?
The answer depends on where you stand.
If you are a training organisation, RS6776 remains a genuine commercial asset. It opens access to public and pooled funding, and the regulatory argument — preparing teams for the AI literacy obligation — resonates with management. But build your economics on employer funds, not on CPF alone.
If you are a company seeking EU AI Act compliance, RS6776 is useful but partial. It certifies individuals on the responsible use of generative AI in content production. It covers neither governance, nor risk mapping, nor the obligations falling on executive management. Those must be addressed separately.
If you are a technical professional, this is not your certification. Its target audience is office-based, and its framework will not validate architecture or deployment skills.
Preparing with MyRex
MyRex trains training organisations to design and deliver this preparation, in a three-day masterclass: AI learning design, automation and RS6776 preparation. Day three covers real exam conditions — practical cases, justification of ethical choices, hallucination control, GDPR and EU AI Act compliance of outputs.
For organisations addressing governance and compliance at board level, our executive day Sovereign governance, EU AI Act and AI risk management is delivered by an ISO/IEC 27001 certified lead auditor.
MyRex SAS is registered as a training provider under activity declaration number 11757647975 with the prefect of the Île-de-France region. This registration does not constitute State approval.
